International Business of the Year

Winner: JMDA (John Martin Design Associates Ltd)
JMDA are a highly interactive creative product design consultancy based in Worcestershire. They offer a complete service from concept to manufacture. In addition to consultancy, they also develop their own intellectual property and offer this to clients. Their product markets are primarily consumer goods such as domestic appliances, health, beauty, medical products, and fire and security equipment. JMDA is the leading UK design company in the area of child car safety seats and one of the top two design companies in Europe. Winner: Peter Prosser Hairdressing
Peter Prosser Hairdressing comprises of three inner-city salons in Hereford. The business was launched in 1998 by Peter and Tracey Prosser with a small first floor salon. A large part of their business is training, both to initiate careers in hairdressing, but also to provide on-going education that ensures high standards are consistently maintained. With 12 apprentices currently employed by the salon, Peter Prosser Hairdressing is dedicated to offering young people the opportunity to build a successful career locally.

Dyno Plumbing is a drainage and plumbing company servicing the general domestic public. Their service includes repairing leaks and drips and replacing/repairing taps, bathrooms and showers. Since they establishment in Bromsgrove in July 2009 their domestic jobs per week have been doubled due to local marketing and a fantastic service delivered by the engineers.www.dyno.com

Environmental Award Worcestershire

Oakland International is a multi-temperature supply chain provider specialising predominantly in wholesale and retail distribution. 80% of their business is chilled food. They are a family owned business started in November 1998. Their head office is in Redditch but they have a number of depots including one in Ireland. Oaklands core strength is providing small and medium sized producers with a high quality and cost effective distribution route to their customers by holding stock and managing order receipt, picking, packing and distribution, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
